Republican State Representative Greg Davids of Preston says people will die because of problems with MNsure, the state's health insurance exchange.
Davids told the Post-Bulletin of Rochester some people who saw their old policies cancelled will not be able to afford the higher premiums and deductibles associated with other plans. Then there's the issue of enrollment problems at MNsure.
Davids said some Minnesotans who think they have insurance coverage starting January 1st might find out that they aren't actually covered. He predicted that in January reporters will be standing outside of hospitals and they will be seeing people walking out without life saving surgery or without their chemotherapy because they don't have an insurance card.
Davids said he wants the Minnesota House to hold hearings on MNsure's problems to come up with a plan to address the situation.....
