Buffalo County Director

The Buffalo County Board approved hiring a full-time director of aging services, a job required by state law.

A resolution drafted by Lauriann Grosskopf, director of health & human services, said the county would be unable to meet mandated service requirements without the position.

Failure to meet standards would result in the loss of state and federal aid for aging and nutrition programs, county officials said.

Job qualifications require a bachelor's degree in human services or associate's degree with at least three years experience in related aging services.

The county board also ratified a 2013 wage contract with union highway and courthouse employees Local 1625 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

The contract gives Local 1625 public employees 1 percent raises, retroactive to January 1st, 2013.
