Wabasha County Adminstrator Search

The Wabasha County Board of Commissioners has decided to re-instate a hiring committee to find a new county administrator but reduce the new committee's members.

The Wabasha County Herald reports the committee will be downsized to five members instead of seven.

The search became necessary when County Administrator Larry Timmerman resigned in late November after just two months on the job.

The board decided its representative on the search committee will be Donald Springer.

Commissioner David Harms, who opposed the need for another committee, said he had heard from two former county administrators who expressed an interest in working two days a week on a contract basis.

No date for a search committee meeting was announced
