The Houston County Board passed their 2014 property tax levy last week.
According to the Caledonia Argus, the levy includes a 3.52 percent increase, with the total predicted levy amount 6.2-million dollars.
Despite the levy increase, budget projections show a deficit in 2014 just over $35,000. Historically, deficits have been covered by the county's general fund.
The Houston County Board will get a better picture of how the county came out financially in 2013 at a meeting next month.
