Cotter Sweeps Mabel-Canton at Warrior Club Tournament

The Lewiston Auto/Warrior Club Holiday Basketball Tournament began last night and the Cotter boys and girls both picked up blowout wins over Mabel-Canton. The boys led 40-32 at the half and then turned it up on the defensive end and pulled away for an 80-48 win. The Ramblers gave up just 16 second half points and outscored the Cougars 40-16 in the second half. Cotter used a 16-1 run to start the second half to gain control of the game.
Cotter had four players in double figures led by senior point guard Garrett Crowley who finished with 22 points. Caleb Forst came off the bench to score 13 and Matt Schrupp and Jonah Spiten scored 11 each.
Cotter improves to 5-4 with the win.
The Cotter girls forced 21 turnovers and beat Mabel-Canton 60-32. The Ramblers held down the Cougars in the first half and led 31-10 at the halftime break. Hannah Spiten led Cotter with 14 points and Julia Charron had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
