DM & E Line Sold

The Canadian Pacific Railroad has announced it has reached an agreement to sell 660 miles of its Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern track that stretches from Tracy, Minnesota, to Rapid City, South Dakota.

The agreement is with Genesee and Wyoming Incorporated for continued rail operations.

According to P-R Newswire, the deal also includes some connecting branch lines into Nebraska.

The DM&E line also runs as far east as Winona.

Customers on the line ship approximately 52,000 carloads annually of products such as grain, ethanol, and fertilizer.

The new rail operations will be able to interchange with the Canadian Pacific, Union Pacific, and BNSF lines.
