Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said the search for a fourth missing person believed to have been inside a vehicle that crashed into the Mississippi River early Sunday resumed today with more agencies being called Tuesday.
Monday the body of 28-year-old Blake Overland of Stewartville was pulled from the river about 1:30 p.m. It was located using a robotic sonar device in the same vicinity where the vehicle plunged into the river off Huff Street.
Brand identified the fourth suspected victim as 29-year-old Andrew Kingsbury of La Crosse.
Brand said special camera equipment was brought in by a Black River Falls Company to aid in the search. He said Olmsted County also sent four people to help out. Brand said if something is found divers will go into the river.
Two other bodies inside the vehicle were recovered on Sunday. They were identified as 36-year-old Christina Lee Hauser of Winona, the driver, and 30-year-old Mathew Patrick Erickson of Chatfield.
Crews, battling extreme cold, called off their search of the river for the fourth victim at dusk Monday.
A black box was recovered from the vehicle and will be analyzed by the State Patrol to reconstruct the incident and determine how fast the vehicle was going when it crashed through a guard rail and over the Mississippi River dike.
Brand said Riverview Drive will remain open for traffic during the search but vehicles are asked to use caution when in the area.
