The Minnesota Senate has launched a new webite with information on the large number of projects and communities across the state requesting state funding from the 2014 bonding bill.
The chairman of the senate bonding committee, LeRoy Stumpf is inviting the public to visit "Build.MN" to check out project requests. The site contains project summaries, insights from key leaders and elected officials, and opportunities to join the conversation.
Work on the bonding bill starts when the 2014 session opens on February 25th. The House will fashion its own bonding bill.
Local projects hoping to get state funding this year include Winona State's 22-million dollar request for its proposed Education Village...and the City of Winona's request for the little over 4-million dollars for phase one of the Louisa Street extension to Highway 61.
