The Winona Area Public School Board Thursday received an update on the progress for selecting a new Superintendent of Schools.
BKB Search Consultant, Brian Boettcher, told the board there are already 15 candidates from all over the country, including 8 current superintendents and 3 principals.
Boettcher says there are women and people of color among the current applicants with another week to go to take applicants.
Boettcher says the board will determine finalists, review interview proceedures and approve candidate questions on February 3rd. The interview process will start Wednesday, February 12th, with community and staff input.
A finalist will be selected in early to mid-March and the new superintendent would start July 1st, 2014.
Current Superintendent, Scott Hannon, will retire at the end of June.
