The impacts of best management practices on erosion, habitat and water quality will be the focus of a Land Stewardship Project (LSP) workshop Friday, January 31st, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Houston Nature Center in Houston.
Everyone is welcome, especially landowners, farmers and farmer consultants.
The Houston Nature Center is located at 215 W. Plum St., at the Houston trailhead on the south bank of the Root River. Watch for LSP signs from Highway 76.
The workshop, "Best Farming Practices and Cool Maps," will use maps, nutrient management plans, and research to illustrate how land use decisions can have a positive impact on the farm and beyond.
