Doerr-Mining Permit

A town of Buffalo man running for the Buffalo County Board has applied for a sand and limestone mining permit in Piepers Valley in rural Fountain City.

Errol Doerr and his company, Quality Sands, are seeking a conditional-use permit to extract sand and limestone from some 22 acres of land.

Doerr and his family live on-site where they have a home and over 159 acres of land in Pieper's Valley.

Doerr is a candidate for county board in District 14, town of Buffalo, where he's running against incumbent Mary Anne McMillan Urell.

Doerr also is involved in a proposed River Valley Sands, LLC, mining project in the town of Dover, a permit sought by a consortium of landowners.

The mining proposal in the town of Buffalo would extract an estimated 250,000 tons of mineral annually, including frac-sand, fill-sand, limestone and rock.

The county board election is April 1st.....
