Non-Profit Funding

Two local non-profit agencies in Winona will be seeking an increase in state funding from the 2014 legislature next month to help pay for programs and increase employee wages.
Dennis Thiede with Home and Community Options says his group and the Winona County Developmental Achievement Center are seeking a 5-percent increase in state funds from Medicaid to help meet current challenges.

DAC spokesman Ryan Buhler says most of the sought-after earmarked to improve employee wages.

Theide says his group has 370 employees while Buhler says his group serves more than 250 clients with disabilities.
