Obama Care-Local

Three weeks into the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and Winona Health is reporting no big rush of additional patients.

CEO Rachelle Schultz told a Winona Radio audience most people are waiting to see how the early signup period problems with Minnesota's insurance marketplace, MnSURE, are fixed by the state.

Schultz said one big change is the switch of Blue Cross patients into the state's U-Care program as of January 1st which has seen Winona Health's reimbursements go down.

Schultz said Winona Health has had to work with people whose coverage switched to U-Care and help facilitate the change.
