The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team won its eleventh straight game and avenged their only loss of the season beating Bethel 71-54 last night. The Cardinals nearly led from start to finish and knocked Bethel out of a second place tie with the loss. The Cardinals defense limited Bethel to just 26 percent shooting from the field while Saint Mary’s hit 7-14 three-point shots.
Courtney Euerle led four players in double figures with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Darcy Rice scored 12 points, Bridget Pethke had 11 and Emma Schaefer added 10.
Saint Mary’s improves to 14-1 and they are 11-1 in the MIAC. The Cardinals next game will be Saturday at Saint Benedict.
