Friday Local Schedule



Tonight on the local schedule the Winona State men’s basketball team has a huge game at home when they host 14th ranked Minnesota State-Mankato. First place is on the line in the NSIC as both teams come in 10-2 in conference play. Winona State had an eleven game winning streak stopped last weekend and they have now lost two straight to fall into a first place tie. Minnesota State is 16-3 overall and Winona State is 15-4.

The Winona State women will try and snap a five game losing streak tonight against Minnesota State. Tomorrow the Warriors will host Concordia-St. Paul.

There’s a huge high school boys game tonight in Caledonia as second ranked Rushford-Peterson plays at Caledonia. The Trojans are 16-0 while Caledonia is 12-1 with their only loss being a six point loss to Rushford-Peterson back at the beginning of the season. R-P has won 24 consecutive regular season games heading into tonight. Tonight’s big game can be heard on K-Dub Country 99.3 starting at about 7:20.

The Cotter boys play on the road at Dover-Eyota and the game can be heard on AM 1230 KWNO and online at winonaradio.com starting at 7:20. Also in boys’ action, Wabasha-Kellogg is at St. Charles, Lewiston-Altura travels to Plainview-Elgin-Millville and C-FC is playing at Eleva-Strum.

The Winona High boys’ and girls’ teams have a home doubleheader against Mankato East. The girls’ game will start at 6:00 and the boys play at 7:30. The Hope Lutheran boys and girls play at Lyle/Pacelli.

In girls’ basketball, Cotter is home to Dover-Eyota, St. Charles plays at Wabasha-Kellogg and Houston is at Schaeffer Academy.

The Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team is at Gustavus Adolphus while women are hosting Gustavus. The Winona High Nordic ski teams have a meet in Rochester.
