Kids in the Winona area will get a chance to do some ice fishing on Saturday, February 1st, when the Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge holds its annual Kids Fishing Day.
The free event will take place at the McNally Boat Landing on Prairie Island and is open to kids six to thirteen years old.
Refuge spokesperson Mary Stefanski says the event will run from 10:00 a.m. to noon and all of the equipment will be provided for the kids.
A parent must accompany a child to register for the event at the site. Food and refreshments will be provided.
