Two groups asking the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to reopen the CapX2020 Hampton-to-La Crosse high-voltage power line docket dispute utilities' claim that their January 9th request did not contain new relevant information.
In a response filed with the PSC Thursday, SOUL of Wisconsin and the Citizens Energy Task Force (CETF) again addressed information presented by utilities on La Crosse area peak demand that, according to attorney Carol Overland, is misleading and continues to overstate the need for the project.
CapX2020 is a is part of a high voltage power line that would stretch from the Dakotas into Wisconsin to the La Crosse area passing through Buffalo and Trempealeau counties.
The request to reconsider approval of the project was submitted in hopes the Wisconsin PSC would reconsider in time to avoid the financial and environmental consequences the two group's say would occur if construction of the Wisconsin segment of the CapX2020 line were to begin this March.
Thousands of individuals and municipalities have asked the PSC and utilities to give equal consideration to other viable solutions.
