The Winona Health Auxiliary raised a total of $67,000 during 2013 and a check was presented to president and CEO RachelleSchultz during its annual meeting on January 16th.
$41,000 will be used to enhance the healing environment for patients at Winona Heath. In addition, $3,000 was given for projects to benefit residents at Winona Health's Senior Living at Watkins, Roger Metz, Adith Miller and Lake Winona manors, and $23,000 was awarded for healthcare scholarships in 2013, making the grand total for
Auxiliary gifts in 2013 at $67,000.
In addition to funds raised throughout the year during various events and at the Glady D. Miller Gift Shop, last year volunteers provided 2,675 hours of service to Winona Health. Using the current U.S. average hourly value for volunteer time, that amounts to a gift equivalent to just over $524,000 in service time to Winona Health.
New Auxiliary officers for 2014 are: Sheryl Miller, president; Bev Keiper, president-elect; Candice Mayberry, secretary; Irene Mulyck, treasurer; Barbara Pozanc , assistant treasurer; Nancy Enochs, past president; and Kim Schwab, Winona Health board representative.
