Rushford Lawsuit



A settlement has been reached with a developer of a proposed hotel and community center project in Rushford who had been seeking in excess of $500,000 in a civil lawsuit.  
               
The developer will get $150,000 instead.

The Tri-County Record reports the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust  has agreed to pay $25,000 with the city having to come up with the remaining $125,000 in th settlement.

The lawsuit had been filed led by Guardian Inn LLC and F-and-L Management and Development out of Luverne, Minnesota.

The suit had alleged breach of implied covenant and good faith
            
The City of Rushford entered into an agreement with the two entities for development of a new hotel and community center in 2009 but terminated the agreements in 2011 after the development stalled.
