Boathouse Fire-Arson



The Winona Fire Department is asking for the public's assistance in finding the person who may be responsible for starting a fire on Latsch Island last Thursday, january 30th.

Arson is being investigated in the early morning fire that destroyed the boathouse owned by Jim O'Grady

Assistant Fire Chief Jim Multhaup said boathouse had no electricity or heating fuel and was totally destroyed.

Contents inside the O'Grady boathouse, including furniture, and six or seven outboard motors, were all destroyed. Brand said the boathouse was insured.

Footprints were seen in the snow near the boathouse.

Arson has been determined as a possible factor in the blaze

No injuries were reported.......
