Several Winona business leaders were told Thursday the chances for the repeal of three unpopular business taxes contained in the 2013 Tax Bill are good.
Representative Gene Pelowski told a Chamber Eggs and Issues breakfast that bills throwing out the business-to-business, warehouse, and sale taxes on agriculture equipment and products, are ready to go.
The repeal of all three taxes was also supported by Senators Jeremy Miller and Matt Schmit. Schmit said he believes there is enough support in the Senate as well.
The lawmakers said they want the three taxes repealed to help prevent businesses from departing the state, some of which, they said, has already taken place.
