The Levee Park Committee will get its first formal look Tuesday at a consultant's preliminary draft plan containing suggestions for improvements to the park.
The ambitious document contains drawings of how the park may look and suggestions for what the park might contain. It calls for the removal of a portion of the permanent dike but that can be done only with the blessing of the U-S Army Corps. of Engineers.
Committee Chairman Frank Pomeroy last week stressed that the suggestions are just a vision for the park and final decisions are a long way off.
He said Tuesday's meeting will give committee members a chance to digest the suggestions.
Tuesday's meeting is at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Pomeroy said a public forum has been tentatively set for March 8th.
