HCO-State Funding

Home and Community Options in Winona is hoping that the Minnesota Legislature increases state funding this year.

Senior Manager, Dennis Thiede, says the added money in state funds from Medicaid is badly needed to help meet current challenges.
Republican State Senator Jeremy Miller has co-authored the 5-percent Campaign legislation which would provide a 5-percent wage increase for Home and Community Based Services and Intermediate Care Facilities for Developmental Disabilities.

Theide says, if passed, the legislation would provide a much needed boost to HCO's employees. Theide says he also supports the push to raise the state's minimum wage. He says a boost in pay per hour would help HCO recruit and retain a qualified workforce.
Theide says without an increase in state Medicaid funding, any increase in the minimum wage could have a negative impact on HCO.
