Winona Occupational Rehabilitation Center (WORC), a non-profit organization located in Winona, is the recipient of a million dollar property.
Deloughery Homes Limited Partnership, owner of the Lewiston Villa nursing home in Lewiston, has donated the property with no stipulations to WORC for basically closing costs.
The nursing home was closde in September of 2013 and had served over 4,000 residents over the past 30 years and had 63 active staff. All of the residents were relocated and over 90% of the staff found work in the first month after the closing.
WORC Executive Director, Judie Foster-Lupkin says they are honored to be the recipient of the Lewiston Villa property. She says it represents 25,000 square feet of opportunity.
While no plans have been formalized for the Villa, the donation will be used in a manner that will maximize WORC's mission of providing employment, vocational training and comprehensive job related skills and services to people with disabilities.
