Gun Incident-Juvenile

Lewiston Police are recommending felony armed robbery charges be filed against a 14-year-old St. Charles boy in connection with an incident in Lewiston Wednesday night.

Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said deputies were called to a Lewiston residence about 11:30 p.m. on a report that the juvenile had pointed a gun at three adults outside the residence.

Ganrude said the three males, ages 18, 19, and 21, told deputies the boy had taken $360 in cash from them in an apparent drug deal involving marijuana.

The boy fled the residence and deputies arrested him later at a St. Charles residence. He is being held in a secure juvenile detention center.

No one was injured in the incident.

Ganrude said a C-O-2 handgun was recovered at the Lewiston residence but no marijuana was found.

The case has been referred to the county attorney's office with Lewiston police seeking felony armed robbery charges against the boy.
