Winona Police said a 20-year-old Winona man is facing drug charges after police searched his vehicle in the Walmart parking lot early Thursday.
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said an officer stopped the vehicle just after midnight because it had a cracked windshield. After seeing some suspicious activity inside, the officer searched the vehicle and turned up a pipe with a substance that field tested positive for meth.
The driver, Steven Edward Taverna, was cited with a fifth degree controlled substance violation, and possession of both a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
