Rochesrer Veteran's Museum

A World War II veteran in Rochester is eager for a proposed museum to honor the memories of fellow veterans.

Glenn Miller says he still thinks daily about the Marines he fought side-by-side with who didn't come home. The 89-year-old tells the Post-Bulletin the museum will make sure they are remembered when he is gone.

The Minnesota Veterans and Emergency Services Museum in Rochester has been in the works for six years. But the leader of the effort says many local residents don't know about the project.

A local lawmaker is seeking $15 million from the state to help pay for a planned $20 million museum. It's meant to honor not only veterans but also firefighters, police officers and paramedics. The organizer says that will make it unique nationwide.
