SE Tech Interviews



The first of three final candidates for president of Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical was in Winona Monday to meet with constituents and the public at the college.

Interviewed was Dorothy Duran who has served as president for academic affairs at Iowa Western Community College since 2006. Duran holds a doctorate in education administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Russ Rothamer, who is currently vice president for academic affairs at a community college in Arizona, is scheduled to visit the Winona campus on Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

A second candidate will be interviewed Tuesday from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on the Winona campus. Laura Urban is currently provost and vice president for academic affairs at Gateway Community College in Kentucky since 2010. Urban holds a doctorate in education from Capella University.

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees will make a final selection on March 19th and the new president will begin work on July First to replace current president Jim Johnson who will retire at the end of June.
