With Minnesota still in the throes of the coldest weather in 35 years, state lawmakers are seeking solutions for a propane shortage affecting residents who use the fuel for heating.
Representative Steve Drazkowski says one of the first bills to be considered, as the 2014 session opens, is an emergency propane assistance measure that would provide 20 million dollars for low income households.
Drazkowski says the funds will be handled by the Department of Commerce where folks will need to apply.
The bill is expected to be fast-tracked by lawmakers
