A Minnesota House committee has approved a plan that would legalize medical marijuana, but it still faces a long road in the legislature.
Members of the Health and Human Services Policy Committee advanced the bill Tuesday evening after listening to mothers testify about how their children suffered up to 100 seizure a day before receiving marijuana treatment.
But Representative Gene Pelowski of Winona says chances are small it will be approved by the Governor.
Pelowski says a bill cracking down on the sale of synthetic drugs stands a better chance of passing this session.
Lawmakers are also looking at legislation regulating the sale of electronic cigarettes which now is unregulated in the state.
