Drug Charges

Winona Police said a 29-year-old Winona woman was jailed early Friday on drug charges following her arrest.

Police Chief Paul Bostrack said Ashley Helen Gore was cited with a fifth degree controlled substance crime for possessing a substance that tested positive for a synthetic drug known as plant food.

The arrest was made after an officer made a traffic stop near Highway 61 and Highway 43 just after 3:00 a.m.

Inside the vehicle the officer found a purse belonging to Gore that contained a significant amount of the synthetic drug. They also located some drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, Christopher Michael Klein, also of Winona, was cited with three misdemeanor counts including  possession of drug paraphernalia. A second passenger was not charged.
