Reduced Price Meals

A bill to fully fund hot school lunches for Minnesota children whose families cannot afford reduced-price meals was approved on a bi-partisan vote  by the Ways and Means committee Monday morning.

DFL Representative Yvonne Selcer chief author of the bill, says it's a relief for parents to know their children will get a nutritious meal.

About 60,000 students qualify for lunches at a reduced price of 40 cents apiece.

Next stop for the measure is the House Floor.
