Board Chair Praised

Buffalo County Board Chairman Del Twidt recently chaired his final county board session where many county supervisors recognized him for steering financial planning and overseeing county operations.

Twidt, Fay Passow and six other county board members are not running for re-election. They will exit the board in mid-April after all 14 seats on the county board come up for election on April 1st.

Twidt will close out a 14-year run on the county board having served as chairman of the board as well as administrative coordinator for some years.

Dist. 12 Supervisor John Kriesel of Buffalo City said Twidt's management skills and attention to detail have saved the county hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Supervisor Tom Taylor, chairman of the county's land resources and zoning committee, also is leaving in April, conceding that controversy over sand mining in the county has taken its toll on him......
