Rushford-Peterson school district officials were back at the state legislature Thursday in their ongoing quest to get state money to help build a new K-through-12 school in Rushford.
Representative Greg Davids says while their effort has been been good, the chances of getting the 20-million dollars in the bonding bill remain slim.
If the district were to get the funding, the Rushford-Peterson voters would still have to approve over 10-million dollars in a local bond referendum before the over 30-million dollar project could move forward.
Rushford-Peterson was joined by the Moose Lake school district in a joint request before the House bonding committee. Moose lake is seeking funds to repair flood damage.
This is one of several requests for state funding the R-P district has made in the last few years as it trys to replace its over 100-year-old school building in Rushford.
