The Winona Port Authority next Wednesday, March 19th, will get its first look at a proposal for a new addition to Midtown Foods.
Owner Ernie Gorman wants to construct a 3,000 square foot addition to house a liquor store. The City Council gave its blessing earlier to the sale of some property in the nearby city parking lot to Midtown Foods for the addition.
The Port Authority is expected to hold a public hearing in April on the request.
The Authority is also expected to award a contract for a grading and stormwater project at the commercial harbor. Seven bids were received for the work.
In addition, County Recorder Bob Bambenek will be on hand to provide a brief overview of recent commercial land sales in Winona.
The meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m Wednesday at City Hall which is a change from the original Thursday meeting date..
