Winona Representative Gene Pelowski says workers providing services for the disabled community are still in line to get a 5-percent increase in state funding...just not all in the same year.
Pelowski, in an email to constituents, said the increase,if approved by the legislature this session, would include a one percent raise from the 2013 session which would carry over, and a 4-percent increase from this year's legislature.
Pelowski said minority lawmakers who told visitors to the capital this week they would not get the full five percent, were incorrect.
The additional funding would be used to increase the salaries of those who serve the disability community. They include employees of Winona's Home and Community Options, the Development Achievement Center, and ORC Industries, whose salaries have remained stable for a number of years......
