March Foodshare Drive-Scouts
The March Foodshare food drive in Winona got a boost over the weekend when the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts held their annual door-to-door pickups on Saturday.
Winona Volunteer Services Executive Director Sandra Burke says unofficial results show the scouts collected nearly 3,800 pounds of food Saturday along with $387 in cash.
That brings the overall unofficial totals to 9,637 pounds of food and $6,058 in cash.
Volunteer Services is seeking more food and cash donations as the month-long drive nears and end with about two weeks remaining.
Drop barrels are sill located in local churches and food stores, and donations can be dropped off at Volunteer Services headquarters at 402 East Second Street during regular business hours.
The drive will officially end on April 4th.
