A Winona High School instructor has been named as one of the ten finalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year for 2014 by Education Minnesota, the teacher's union.
Lora Hill is a special education teacher in grades nine through twelve.
Hill and the other finalists will be interviewed by a special panel on Saturday, May 3rd, in St. Paul. The final selection of the Teacher of the Year will be announced at a banquet the next day, Sunday, May 4th.
Hill is the only teacher from southeastern MInnesota to be chosen as a finalist. There were originally 128 teachers who were entered into the competition.
Minnesota's Teacher of the Year will compete with instructors from across the nation for national Teacher of theYear.
