The public has a chance to submit proposals to improve Winona's downtown area and maybe receive up to a $20,000 grant to help do it.
The Downtown Idea Exchange will take place this Saturday, April 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Winona History Center.
The city's Carlos Espinosa says attendees will get a chance to pitch their ideas in the visioning process being facilitated by the Southern MInnesota Initiative Foundation. The proposals must include the infrastructure in downtown Winona.
Espinosa says bring your ideas for about a 30-second presentation and come up with the details later.
The top projects, determined by a selection committee, will be eligible for a grant of up to $20,000. The top presenters will be invited to give a formal presentation to the funding committee on May 15th.
Projects must be completed by November 30th, this year.
