The outside investigation of a Winona County solar panel project and two county employees will not come cheap.
The Winona County Board next Tuesday, April 8th, will be asked to approve an agreement with the Twin Cities law firm of Lockridge, Grindal, and Nauen to conduct the independent investigation.
Under the proposed agreement, lead attorney Charles Nauen will be paid a discounted rate of $295 an hour, a fellow law firm partner will be paid $225 an hour, and a paralegal will be paid $135 an hour. The firm discounts its rates for government representation.
County Administrator Duane Hebert and Sustainability Coordinator Anne Morse are currently on paid administrative leave in connection with the solar panel project investigation.
Charles Nauen has handled a significant number of cases involving government including serving as co-lead counsel for Governor Mark Dayton in the 2010 gubernatorial election recount.
The Tuesday meeting is open to the public at the County Government center at 9:00 am.
