School Board-WSU Education Village

The Winona Area Public School Board met Thursday night and heard from Winona State University President, Dr. Scott Olson, who shared information about WSU's Education Village.

Olson told the board the vision is for a new way future teachers learn and would feature students getting teaching experiences right away.

Olson says that WSU would actually offer a three year guarantee that students that get hired as teachers by the school district are well trained and ready to teach.

Olson will be also be present for the "Collaborative Conversations" meeting Friday from 6:00  to 8:00 pm in Wanek Hall at the Winona County History Center.

The board and key WAPS administrators are meeting with representatives from WSU, St. Mary's University, and Southeast Technical to talk about current collaborative efforts and find new ways to partner.
