March Foodshare Drive Totals
The March Foodshare Month food drive has come to an end with the local food shelves re-stocked for a few more months.
Sandra Burke, Executive Director of Winona Volunteer Services says 19,234 pounds of food were donated along with $30,600 in cash.
And while the totals fell short of this year's goal, Burke says the cash will help her make purchases of food at discount prices.
Burke is inviting anyone who needs some food assistance to stop by Winona Volunteer Services at 402 East Second Street during regular business hours.
The next food drive will be held in mid-May when the National Lettercarriers food drive takes place in the Winona area.
