Morning Headlines with Paul Lundquist on KWNO
The Winona County Board of Commissioners next Tuesday will discuss the future of the County's Soil and Water Conservation District.
The county has been studying possible organizational changes that would help the district deal with financial difficulties and shrinking revenues.
One option that has been discussed is a possible merger of the SWCD with the county.
Also on the board's agenda is a discussion on setting a minimum wage for the next county auditor-treasurer. The duties are currently being handled by Finance Director Pat Moga but a new auditor-treasurer will be elected in November to replace Suzanne Rivers who retired in 2012.
Board Chair Marcia Ward says the public is invited to the Government Center Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. for a meet and greet with the commissioners and department heads.
Tuesday's meeting is at 7:00 p.m. at the County Government Center.
