Fastenal Annual Meeting

Two of the original founders of Winona's Fastenal Company officially stepped down Tuesday from the firm's board of directors during the Winona company's annual meeting.

Board Chairman Bob Kierlin and Steve Slaggie formally retired leaving only one of the original five founders of the company, Michael Gostomski serving on the board.

Fastenal's current president and C-E-O, Will Oberton, takes over the role of board chairman.

Both Kierlin and Slaggie have reached the mandatory retirement age of 75.

Eight other members of the board of directors were re-elected to the board.

Fastenal was founded in Winona in 1967 and since then has grown into an international company with over 2,600 retail stores.
