An investigation involving the March 8th shooting of a former Winona State University professor is in the hands of the Winona County Attorney.
Sheriff Dave Brand said the investigation into the death of 72-year-old Mickey Ellenbecker has been completed and it's up to the county attorney's office to determine if any criminal charges will be filed.
Authorities have questioned a 64-year-old male as a person of interest in the case.
Ellenbecker died from a gunshot wound to the head in his residence near Pickwick. A 22-caliber revolver was recovered. Authorities said the person of interest was in the home at the time of the shooting.
No other details from the investigation have been released.
