Johnson Honored

Outgoing Minnesota State College--Southeast Technical President Jim Johnson was honored Tuesday with a special breakfast and the announcement of an endowed scholarship in his name.

Johnson will retire at the end of June completing a 32-year career at Southeast Tech where he served in a number of capacities starting as a trade and industry coordinator and progressing to the school's presidency in 1995.
During his tenure Johnson saw three college name changes, eight state chancellors, a merger in 1992 with the Red Wing Technical College, and the mega merger of the state's post secondary institutions into the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
Southeast Tech's Legacy Fund will provide the money for scholarships in Johnson's name through the school's Foundation.
