Republican Senator Jeremy Miller of Winona has been selected as a judge for the Student Division for the Minnesota Cup's 2014 competition.
For ten years, the Minnesota Cup competition - the largest statewide new venture competition in the United States - has supported and accelerated the development of innovative business ideas from around the state. In 2014, the Cup opened for entries on March 24th and state residents have until May 9th to submit entries to compete for $300,000 in prize money.
Miller says the Minnesota Cup has helped thousands of entrepreneurs build better business plans and work towards achieving business success. Miller adds he's honored to be involved in such a great competition.
Each entry must contain a description of the product or service, explanation of the market size or opportunity, a sales and marketing overview, brief operating plan and high level financial projections and assumptions.
After three rounds of judging, a finalist and runner-up from each division will be chosen with the finalist receiving a cash prize of $30,000 and the runner-up receiving $5,000.
