Authorities said a 20-year-old Utica man was injured in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday.
Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said a patrolling deputy discovered a vehicle in the ditch off County Road 35 southeast of St.Charles just before 5:00 a.m. but no one was around. There was also blood inside the vehicle.
Further investigation determined the driver, identified as Travis Mathew Pape, had gotten a ride to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester where he was being treated for his injuries.
Ganrude said the vehicle may have had two passengers who were not located. The vehicle struck an embankment when it left the road.
