Body Found in R-V
Winona Police report an autopsy is being conducted on a body discovered in a cargo bin of an R-V at the Winona ShopKo store parking lot.
Police Chief Paul Bostrack reported Friday a group of people had rented the motorhome from an Anoka County business and had parked it in the ShopKo parking lot. He said the body was discovered about 10:00 p.m.Thursday when they opened an exterior cargo bin during a stop in Winona.
The body was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an autopsy.
Winona Police are receiving assistance in the investigation from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Anoka County Sheriff's Department.
The group of college friends were on their way to Saturday's Kentucky Derby but ended up returning home to the Twin Cities and planned to watch the race at Canterbury Park in Shakopee.
