The City of Winona could get good news soon from the state capitol in St. Paul.
Democratic State Representative, Gene Pelowski of Winona, says the House Ways and Means committee passed a bonding bill Tuesday. He says it contains full funding for Winona State's proposed $23,000,000 Education Village and $1,700,000 for Southeast Tech upgrades and money for the Winona commercial harbor.
Pelowski says the Senate's version does not include full funding for the Winona projects so it remains to be seen what will be presented to Governor Dayton.
The bonding bill does not contain the $4,200,000 the City of Winona wants to finance half the Louisa Street extension project to Highway 61 in the city's east end.
